Welcome to Imperium Jiu-Jitsu.
We are a Private Jiu-Jitsu Studio, located in Saskatoon.
We offer high end Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu private training.
Our training has a much different feel than other traditional BJJ clubs.
**WHY CHOOSE US?**
Unlike every other gym/school, our classes are small by design. The issues with being in a large class is that you generally receive very little attention from the instructor. It can be especially frustrating when you are new, as often times you are paired up with another new person and are usually left to your own devices. It is very difficult to progress this way, and it is often why most students don't make it to Blue belt.
With thousands of hours on the mats, we have forgotten more than most people will ever learn. Our program is suitable for anyone, however, we do not offer a kids class, although we allow 14+.
We also allow cross-training, so everyone is welcome.
CLASSES
Gi Class
A Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Kimono (Gi) is required to take this class. We have some mid-level Gi’s available to purchase if you don’t have one. We also have a few club Gi’s you could borrow. This class is perfect for learning self defence, getting into shape, and giving you all the tools to have more self confidence.
No-Gi Class
This class is No-Gi, which means you may wear a T-shirt and shorts. We recommend wearing a rash guard and spats (leggings). Classes are limited to around 8 students.
MITCH “ DANGER ZONE” CLARKE
IMPERIUM BJJ is proudly an affiliate under Professor Clarke. He is a 2nd Degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black belt under Rodrigo Mundruca (Royler Gracie), and is a former UFC Fighter. He was the UFC 173 Performance of the night winner, with a UFC Submission of the Year Runner up award with an incredible submission win over Al Iaquinta. He is also a 2x Submission Series Pro Superfight winner. He was also a University of Alberta wrestler, and a CanWest Team Gold Medallist. He has Trained under John Crouch (Royce Gracie Black belt), Harry St Leger (Judo world team member and BJJ black belt under Renzo Gracie), and Greg Jackson.
Professor Clarke will be doing seminars at IMPERIUM regularly.
“SEXY” DAVE MAH
Professor Mah is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black belt, and retired Professional Mixed Martial Artist. He is the former owner of 'Way of the Dragon Martial Arts' and 'Strong Style Muay Thai'. He has coached and developed one of Saskatchewan’s largest and most successful MMA Teams, and helped his athletes compete on an international level. Professor Mah has a background in wrestling, Catch wrestling, Muay Thai kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Not only that, but he also has an extensive background in security work, and is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable self-defence instructors in western Canada.
Professor Mah will be instructing at IMPERIUM full time.
